Our Story

Over Two Decades. Over 550 Merchants. The Same Standard Every Time.

Sunrise Business Services was founded in 2001 by Karen Arthus, who spent over two decades in banking before moving into the payments industry. That background in finance shaped everything about how Sunrise operates: precision with numbers, accountability to the people who trust you, and a genuine responsibility to protect what your clients have built.

 

Over the past two decades, Sunrise has served over 550 merchants across retail, healthcare, food service, convenience, petroleum, and specialty industries, processing nearly $11 billion in total transaction volume. Some of our earliest merchants are still with us today, more than 20 years into the relationship.

That kind of longevity does not come from locking people into contracts or making promises we cannot keep. It comes from showing up consistently, doing what we said we would do, and treating every merchant account like it matters to us personally, because it does.

We have always believed that a processor should be more than a transaction middleman. We should be a partner. That means:

If we cannot beat your current rate, we will tell you. We would rather earn your trust now and your business later than overpromise and underdeliver.

Monitoring, not just processing.

We do not just run your transactions and disappear. We actively watch for chargebacks, open batches, compliance lapses, and anything else that could cost you money or disrupt your operations.

Access to real people.

When you call our office, you reach someone who already knows your account and your history. You do not have to re-explain your situation to a new representative every time something comes up, and you will never be transferred to an overseas call center.
